Youth Season

Program Overview

Our program introduces the kids to hockey in an inclusive, fun and safe environment and creates a quality sport experience through application of the Long-term Athlete Development (LTAD) model.

The program is for ages of seven (7) through twelve (12) and focused on fun and skills development.

Kids will begin in the first week with participant assessments to evaluate skill levels and place youth into one of two appropriate categories: Active Start or FUNdamentals.  Sessions will be split based on each participants skill and physical readiness levels and not just age.  Each of the programs will focus on both physical literacy skills as well as sport specific skills appropriate for the participants' abilities in alignment with the LTAD model. The program will culminate with a final assessment and scrimmages in the last week so the participants can see their progress over the course of the season.

The aim of the program is to have fun, build skills and encourage further participation in hockey and/or other sports either through continued participation in roller hockey, ice hockey in the winter or any other sport.
